Absolutely loved this place! The server was great! The owner gave my wife a drink on the house which was unexpected and lovely. We tried many different things that were not on the buffet menu. Everything was fantastic. We'd love to come back. Thank you

Phenomenal food, service, and ambience! And the prices are incredibly reasonable. We came here for my birthday and sat next to the windows looking at the park. The spicy Edamame was excellent. The Bonzai roll was perfect! I loved the bars inside and out. You must try Tenzen. The menu is beyond impressive!!

Great sushi and service as well. Very fresh. Have been multiple times and the food is consistently very good!

Went to go visit my sister in Woodforest and she immediately took me to this new place in their little downtown area for lychee martinis. I've never had lychee but the bartender/owner was so nice! The drinks came out fast and they were delicious. The inside is dimly lit with curtains everywhere. It's very relaxing and fancy! My only regret is not eating anything because we weren't hungry. All the food on the menu and what was brought out from the kitchen looked incredible. I can't wait to go back and eat :)

I so I'm new to the northside area and I never come here but this place is my friend's favorite so we ended up coming here and of course the service was amazing. They had a few sushi options but I loved the chicken fried rice. Our waiter cracked joke after joke.

Amazing service. The best steak I've had in years. Best thing to do is ask the staff for recommendations always a pleasant surprise. The decor is beautiful and the robot is a hoot.

Interesting place. The decor reeks of high class and high cost- very nicely done. The service is a work in progress- several visits have had new servers that didn't know how to use their order pads, let alone anything about the menu. The food is very good but it's not up to the level of the decor. It IS very good sushi, fresh and nicely prepared, but it's really not as special as you're led to believe when you walk in the door. Unfortunately, the prices reflect the decor more than the quality of the food. Let's call this a work in progress and give it another try in a few weeks. Tons of potential.

We tried this place tonight because the owners of Shanghai Bistro (our favorite Chinese restaurant) in the Woodlands told us they had partnered in opening a new restaurant. David had the strip, medium rare, and I had the Chilean Sea Bass. We were both delighted. We also had the dumplings, squid salad, fried rice, and a sushi roll. Whew! Service was excellent! What's really neat is the neighborhood. Very much like Market Street. Band playing outside with families in lawn chairs and children playing. Families driving up in golf carts. Highly recommended from two foodies!

We'd been wanting to try Tenzen for some time. this weekend my wife was dropping off our daughter next door at the Woodforest Dance Company and was chasing our rambunctious 18 month old outside and the owner of Tenzen spotted them and invited my son inside so their amazing robot that can sing "Happy Birthday" in any language. My wife was really touched by the owner's gesture and we finally made a date night to come here tonight for an early dinner. Tenzen's not your average Chinese restaurant - it's elegant and classy inside with a great wine list. Personally, I really appreciated the very well priced happy hour menu and the great selection of Japanese beers + appetizers on it. We ordered some spring rolls, crab puffs, tuna roll, a Cajun roll (crawfish in eel sauce - loved it,) some prime rib Yakatori, and some Ramen. A bit of everything. Prices were very reasonable especially with the happy hour menu and the owner was extremely attentive. We'll try to twist grandma's arm into letting us do another date night here soon.

Why 5 stars? Because this is a welcomed new addition to Woodforest. --- --- --- Tenzen is the latest restaurant to open in Pine Market, a new retail development that comes with high priced rents and a fickle demographic. Opening a local business and seeing it thrive is almost impossible, so I am hopeful that the great people of Woodforest and Montgomery Country support it. They certainly seemed to spare no expense in turning an otherwise bland strip mall canvas into a trendy dining space that feels like it's in The Heights. I ordered two pieces of nigiri and two sushi rolls. I thought the Salmon Belly Nigiri and the Holy Baked roll were just okay, to be honest. But I really enjoyed the fatty tuna nigiri and the Bubba Gump roll. I was told that they still consider this to be the soft opening and that the menu will expand, hopefully sometime in September. I will definitely come back at that time to try the ramen, among other things that might not be on the menu as of today. Everyone I interacted with here could not have been more friendly, which makes it really easy to root for this place. Support Tenzen, fellow community members!
